Show handling can be divided in three different competitions.

1.      The "SHOW HANDLING COMPETITION FOR JUNIORS".

2.      The "SHOW HANDLING COMPETITION FOR SENIORS".

3.      The "SHOW HANDLING TEAM MATCH".

The Show Handling Competition for Juniors.

The Show Handling for Juniors is a competition for youngsters (Juniors.) This category is divided in two classes. One class under 12 years and a second class 12 years till 17 years of age. The Show Handling Competition for Juniors is organised by the Club on most all breed-shows.
The six finalists of each competition gain points. A year ranking is kept. The points of each finalist will be added in the ranking.

The Show Handling Competition for Seniors.

The Show Handling Competition for Seniors is a competitions for adults (over 18 years) (Seniors.) These competitions are also divided in two classe: one class from 18 years till 40 years and a second class for Seniors plus 40 years of age. The Show Handling Competitions for Seniors are mostly organised together with the Juniors. It is perfectly possible to organise a competition only for Seniors.
For the first time in Kortrijk/Courtrai at the "EURODOGSHOW" on the 17th and 18th November 2001 an International Show Handling Competition for Juniors and Seniors was organised. It is a real recommendation to enter and compete. There will be Juniors and Seniors from different countries entered. The six finalists gain points at each competition.A year ranking is kept.

The Show Handling Team Match.

A Show Handling Team Match is a competition for Juniors and Seniors. Each Team is put together by three Juniors or three Seniors. Each Team competes another Team in different rings and is judged by  a different Judge. When each Team has competed all the other Teams a ranking will be made.
The two best Junior Teams and the two best Senior Teams in this competition gain points. The six best individual Juniors and six best individual seniors gain points. We also keep a ranking. Each finalist gets an amount of points which will be added to the ranking.

As you have read there are enough possibilities to enter in one of the competitions. Many Show Handlers look at our competitions as a real ring training. To enter in the Show Handling Competition can contribute to give you confidence and show your dog better in the breed ring.
